STUDY: MA Professional Practice (Site Based Movement and Experience Design)

Marnie starts the 'final leg' of her Masters.
This is a research Masters, which means there is no course and no attendance. Instead, she is studying in
Perth Western Australia as a long distance learner at Middlesex University, London, out of the Work-Based Learning department. With no undergraduate title, she has been granted entry into the program having proven her  industry knowledge and experience for Masters entry, as a dance-maker and events producer.

Area of research - live design through performance based inquiry.

Marnie is looking at the development of 'lived space' by cross-correlating improvisational and site-based dance practices with princples of 'experience design', an innovative area of design coming out of the events industry.

The photos below are from the Forever Eleven party, celebrating time. Held on the weekend of 11.11.11, the party was created by applying live design principles.

The event is showcased in the MA meta-project as a research project, and a source of data through which formal research analyses will be applied.

Improvisational dancer extraordinaire Jacob Lehrer practices live design, which changed the spatial dynamics and atmospheres of the space, at the time of his physical input.
