GALLERY PERFORMANCE - Response to art exhibition Parasite's Paradise III

Taken aback by the junk artworks of international artist Brenton Rossow, Marnie performed a physical response to the international group exhibition, Paradise's Parasite. A collaboration between Edith Cowan and Shanghai Universities, the exhibition addresses the magnitude of human's waste and destruction of planet Earth. Performed with the assistance of WAAPA, Western Australian Academy Performing Arts in July 2018 at Spectrum Project Space, Mt Lawley ECU Campus . COMPANY TRAINING: Ochre Dance, for Diaphonous performance, 2012

I presented regular dance training and workout sessions to Perth's own Ochre Contemporary Dance Company, with indigenous and non-indigenous dancers from around the world. Their focus is on Aboriginal cultura, and the Bodyweather training fitted well on their work. The training was specifically designed in communication with choreographer Jacob Lehrer. Each session altered according to the focus of the tasks for that day. Additional to maintaining strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, alignment and grounding, the sessions addressed dancers' perceptual frameworks of movement by engaging them in ways that are not necessarily familiar to established dance practices. Presented throughout September and October in preparation for Diaphonous, choreographed by Tammi Gisell and Jacob Lehrer.

PROGRESSIVE PERFORMANCE - creative producer, Wearable Art Bridge Walk 2019

Under Marnie's production company profile Filtered Events, Marnie worked closely with artistic director Michelle Boylan for this project. From the stroy that brought alive the 20 or so Wearable Art Mandurah garments to create a story and design the site, and every other aspect of this 1-hour performance walk in collaboration with clients City of Mandurah. This was a small production but a huge production undertaking due to its very site specific remit and moving audience. 550 people attended the 9 progressive performance installation spots along the way, to then stop and listen to the incredible didgeridoo playing of local elder George, and then the sounds of WA Opera stars singing with a local choir. Pia, the international opera singer collaborated with the site specific performance art to weave the performances into a stunning story of light and dark.
